Two broken wings and one Christmas miracle

We work 24/7 at Wildlife Aid and that includes Christmas eve! This day in 2015 Simon was on his was to visit Angus Anderson, a specialist orthopaedic vet who had agreed to perform his magic on a new patient - a tawny owl. This owl was brought into us with two broken wings and without specialist surgery would never have survived. Angus set to work pinning the wings back into place and after a long and difficult operation managed to move the broken bones back into place. It was a tense waiting game waiting to see if the operation had worked, but despite all the odds the owl was released once again later in the year good as new!
